The lemon-scented eucalyptus tree gets its name from the Latin term “citriodorus,” which means “lemon-scented.” It has a characteristic citronella-like pleasant odor of eucalyptus with fresh, lemony top notes and balsamic floral base notes. Among its common uses, it has proven its ability to work effectively as an air freshener. Lemon eucalyptus is great for repelling mosquitoes. This oil also has disinfectant properties and can be used in dish washing soaps and room fresheners.
Cautions: Avoid if you have high blood pressure or epilepsy. For external use only, this is considered toxic if taken internally. Dilute before use; may cause skin irritation in some individuals, so a skin test is recommended prior to use. Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid during pregnancy.
